The keys to Puerto Rico have a Se Vende sign.

Puerto Rican land is out of reach for the common local. Currently, the average property price for a newly built home is around $450,000 – up 21.7% over the last two years. This as the 2024 U.S. Census, shows the median income in Puerto Rico is $25,096.

Se Vende signs have become the norm. For Sale boards decorate communities and avenues across the island. As I continue to photograph them I keep asking: who will be allowed to remain?
